Patti Butcher, a Class A Member of both the PGA and LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division, was recently named one of the “Top 50 Teachers” by Golf for Women Magazine for 2004, also receiving this honor in 2003 and 2000. Her colleagues have also recognized Patti as the 2002 LPGA Midwest Section Teacher of the Year.
Settling in Grand Rapids in 1992, Patti became the Director of Instruction for The Meadows Golf Club and inaugurated the women’s varsity golf program for Grand Valley State University. Before making her home in West Michigan, Patti was an associate golf professional with Craig Harmon at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, host of the 2002 PGA Championship, the 1994 Ryder Cup and 1989 US Open. Craig calls Patti “one of the outstanding golf teachers in the country.”
In June of 1998, she started her own company, Patti Butcher Golf Enterprises, a comprehensive golf services firm. Patti is proud to partner with truly outstanding golf facilities bringing golf education programs to Thousand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan during the summer months and Casa de Campo Golf Resort in the Dominican Republic during the winter months. In addition, PBGE provides the West Michigan community with off-season golf instruction and practice opportunities at The Golf Studio located near downtown Grand Rapids. A sought after speaker, Patti has a degree in human resources management, is certified to train with the DiSC profiling system and was one of the first 25 golf professionals certified to utilize the GolfPsych program.
